The Opportunity
Looking for complex litigation without the private practice grind?
This is your chance to join Crown Law, the in-house law firm for the Queensland Government. You’ll be part of a large, collaborative litigation team working on high-profile, complex disputes that help shape the State – from commercial and property matters to negligence, defamation, class actions and misfeasance claims.
About the Role
Reporting to senior leaders in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, you will:
- Manage a consistent file load of litigated matters in the Supreme and District Courts;
- Draft pleadings, affidavits and other court documents and correspondence;
- Advise on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs and strategic direction;
- Work closely with Counsel and government clients on sensitive, high-impact cases — including matters for consideration at Ministerial and Cabinet levels.
About You
You will have:
- 10+ years’ PAE in litigation (government or private practice);
- Strong drafting, advisory and advocacy skills;
- A collaborative, team-focused approach; and
- Confidence handling varied, complex matters.
Experience mentoring junior lawyers will be valued.
