Legal Counsel

Our client is the Australian and New Zealand subsidiary of one of the world’s leading agribusiness investment managers based in Brisbane.

With operations across the ANZ region and a growing portfolio of assets, their reach is large and covers diverse investments from broad acre cropping, permanent horticulture, timber and forestry and other real assets.

The business’s success stems from their commitment to providing their investors with consistently profitable returns on their investments, and as a result of this, they are now looking to grow their legal team.

As a new legal counsel, you will play a key role in the organisation, reporting into the General Counsel and working closely with the Investment Management team to provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, and contract matters.

Your responsibilities will include a wide mix of work including drafting and advising on various contractual and fund agreements and documentation, assisting in the preparation of board and committee meetings, managing relationships with external legal counsel, providing corporate governance advice, and offering more general M&A and commercial transactional work and advice.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• ~3-5+ years’ PAE and an unrestricted practicing certificate
• demonstrated experience across either corporate (M&A), property, finance, commercial or agribusiness law
• solid firm training or relevant in-house experience
• a commercial approach allowing you to manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders
