This is a rare opportunity to join a large, well-established not-for-profit operating in a highly commercial and regulated environment.
This organisation is mature, with an established legal function, and genuinely values its people. Due to ongoing growth and increased project activity, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their collegiate in-house legal team.
The role:
This is a senior, hands-on in-house position with a clear focus on contracts and commercial projects, alongside broader BAU advisory work. Legal is embedded in the business and involved early in decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts
- Supporting major projects and operational initiatives from a legal and risk perspective
- Advising on contractual risk, liability and compliance in a regulated environment
- Providing pragmatic legal advice to senior internal stakeholders
- Contributing to governance and compliance frameworks
About you:
You will be a strong general commercial lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business.
You will have:
- 5+ years’ experience in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both
- Solid corporate/commercial experience, with particular strength in contracts
- Experience supporting projects and operational initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A practical, commercial approach to legal risk
- Strong values and cultural alignment
- Eligibility to hold a Blue Card
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal history check
