About the role:
Reporting to an Assistant Crown Solicitor and as part of the Native Title Claims and Agreements practice, your day to day will include:
Reporting to an Assistant Crown Solicitor and as part of the Native Title Claims and Agreements practice, your day to day will include:
- litigation, mediation and negotiation related to applications filed in the Federal Court under the Native Title Act 1993;
- court appearances, instructing Counsel, briefing expert witnesses and providing advice on native title claims, Future Act processes, extinguishment of native title and related compensation claims;
- negotiating, drafting, reviewing and advising on complex agreements (such as ILUAs);
- advising Government on policy risk; and
- supporting the leadership and management of the team as 2ic to the Assistant Crown Solicitor.
Skills/Experience:
To be considered for this role you will have:

- 6+ years’ PAE in native title litigation and/or analogous property, P&E or other related litigation;
- experience in leading, mentoring and developing team members;
- the ability to travel from time to time for the role; and
- a pragmatic, commercial approach to your legal work.
