This is a rare opportunity for a senior lawyer to step into a substantial existing commercial property and commercial practice within a growing, high-quality firm.
This fringe CBD firm already has strong workflow, repeat clients, and a capable team in place. The firm is now looking for a senior operator to take responsibility for the practice, lead the team, and shape the next phase of growth.
This role is equally suited to:
- A Senior Associate ready to step into a leadership role over time
- A Special Counsel seeking a genuine platform role
- A Partner looking for a better, more sustainable practice environment
The role:
You will lead and grow an established commercial property and commercial practice, with work including:
- Commercial property transactions and leasing
- Business and share sales
- Commercial advisory and governance work
- Core commercial agreements supporting client operations
Property and commercial work overlap daily, and the successful candidate will be comfortable operating across both areas as part of their regular practice.
You will also lead a small team (Associate, consultant, paralegal), setting standards, mentoring lawyers, and ensuring matters are run efficiently and well.
About you:
You will likely be:
- A Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partner
- Strong in commercial property with genuine commercial depth (or vice versa)
- Comfortable running transactions end-to-end
- Confident supervising and developing others
- Commercially minded and client-facing
- Interested in building something long-term, not just billing hours
An existing client base is welcome but not required.
