Senior Associate – Commercial / Corporate

The Opportunity
Genuine corporate/M&A roles on the Gold Coast are rare.

Our client is a highly regarded Gold Coast firm looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to join its established commercial team.

Working directly with experienced ex-top tier Partners, you’ll advise private businesses, investors and corporate clients on sophisticated transactions and commercial matters, with the firm regularly acting opposite major national firms.

The Work
The practice includes:

• Private M&A, acquisitions and disposals
• Business and share sale transactions
• Bespoke commercial agreements
• Shareholder and unitholder agreements
• Supply and other operational contracts
• Corporate structuring and advisory work
• Due diligence and transaction management

This is a genuine corporate and commercial practice. The successful candidate will have the experience to take responsibility for transactions, draft and negotiate bespoke agreements and work directly with clients.

At the more senior level, you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise and develop junior lawyers and play a broader role in the growth of the practice.

About You
You’ll ideally have:

• Approximately 5+ years’ PAE
• A developed corporate/commercial skillset
• Meaningful M&A and transactional experience
• Strong bespoke drafting and negotiation skills
• Experience managing transactions with appropriate autonomy
• Strong client relationship skills

You’ll also enjoy working collaboratively and have an interest in developing client relationships and your practice over the longer term.
